Lucas County Health County Health Center Counseling Services will host the 7th annual Healthy Hearts Promoting Healthy Minds, a 5K Run/Walk event Saturday, Oct. 2, at Lucas County Health Center in Chariton. Proceeds from the event will help offset the cost of providing mental health services to those in financial need.

The 7th Annual Civil War Re-enactment at Davis County Civil War Days will be held October 9th and 10th from 9:00 am- 4:00 pm. Come see route taken by James “Bill” Jackson and his men as they robbed, terrorized and killed citizens of Davis County during a guerrilla border raid on October 12, 1864.

Dr. Witte will speak Thursday, Oct 28 at the rural Health Education Center on the Indian Hills' Ottumwa Campus.  Registration Starts at 8am with the program from8:30-noon.  Lunch will follow.  the cost to attend is 49 dollars. each attendee will receive a free copy of Witte'sbook "Workplace Gems."

Gothic House-Children's Gothic Halloween Party (2:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

 

 Children’s Gothic Halloween Party at the American Gothic House Center! Kids from preschool through 5th grade are welcome to attend on Saturday, October 30 from 2-3 pm. Arrive in costume to create a spooky parody photograph. Photos will be printed at the party and are a gift to all who attend! Activities also include a scavenger hunt, cookie decorating, and fun crafts.
