Lucas County Health County Health Center Counseling Services will host the 7th
annual Healthy Hearts Promoting Healthy Minds, a 5K Run/Walk event
Saturday, Oct. 2, at Lucas County
Health Center in Chariton. Proceeds from the event will help offset the
cost of providing mental health services to those in financial need.

OTA-FreeShuttle-Pioneer Ridge Hike (5:30 pm)
Ottumwa Transit will be running a shuttle for anybody interested
in going to the Pioneer Ridge Halloween hike. The shuttle bus
is free to everyone but Pioneer Ridge will be charging $3.00 per person for the
hike. They also ask for people to RSVP to Amy at (641) 684-8906.

The 7th Annual Civil War Re-enactment at Davis County Civil War
Days will be held October 9th and 10th from 9:00 am- 4:00 pm. Come see
route taken by James “Bill” Jackson and his men as they robbed,
terrorized and killed citizens of Davis County during a guerrilla border
raid on October 12, 1864.
This event is FREE and open to the public, bring your lawn chairs and
experience a Civil War era camp! The site is located south of
Bloomfield, follow the blue signs.

Children’s Gothic Halloween Party
at the American Gothic House Center! Kids from preschool through 5th
grade are welcome to attend on Saturday, October 30 from 2-3 pm. Arrive
in costume to create a spooky parody photograph. Photos will be printed
at the party and are a gift to all who attend! Activities also include a
scavenger hunt, cookie decorating, and fun crafts.

Residence be sure to turn on your porch light to welcome all the kiddos' in their costumes!
Trick or Treaters be sure to wear reflective gear and use a flashlight.
