Babe Ruth Update.

The Ottumwa Senior Babe Ruth team lost 6-2 Friday night to Watsonville, California. The loss gives the team a 0-2 record in the pool play where they are guaranteed four games. The seniors will play Gulf Shores, Alabama this afternoon at 3:00 central time. Alabama remains undefeated in pool play beating California in an earlier game and giving California their only loss in Babe Ruth World Series play this year. The Iowa seniors will have Sunday off and play New Jersey on Monday. Team manager Cal Evans said; “the teams these boys have been playing are very good.  California’s pitcher was phenomenal, he pitched the whole game and just kept getting better as the game went on.” Evans said the Iowa team plays very well and keeps right up with these teams the first 3 innings. Evans said; “we need to find a way to stay with them after the third inning,” Evans said the team needs to win these next two games to make it into bracket play next week in Ohio.

The 13 year old Babe Ruth team won Friday night shutting out Colorado 7-0. The 13 year olds will play Kansas Saturday (today) at 12:00 noon in St. Paul.  The team is 1-1 in regional play after losing to Missouri Thursday night 7-1

The 14 year old Babe Ruth team will play their first game Sunday in Williston North Dakota.
