MAN DRESSED AS ELF ARRESTED FOR DWI: A New Jersey man dressed as one of Santa's elves was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of DWI after failing multiple sobriety tests. Brian Chellis was found by police passed out drunk in his car, with the engine running, music blaring and an open can of beer beside him, in a Target parking lot and was subsequently arrested and summoned for driving while intoxicated and careless driving while also being cited for possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. MAN PLUNGES THROUGH CEILING IN FAILED ROBBERY: Florida man, Chacarion Avant, 19, was charged with armed burglary after he crashed through insulation and ceiling tiles at Gonzalez Bakery in Groveland, Florida. Avant had a knife on him and officials believe he was trying to rob the business but they are not sure how he got into the ceiling. The thief allegedly fell onto a rack of potato chips. UNEXPLODED WORLD WAR II BOMB FOUND: Authorities in Potsdam, Germany evacuated about 10,000 people from the surrounding area where an unexploded bomb from WWII was found. City authorities said builders working on state investment bank ILB's new headquarters found the 550 pound bomb at the site. The bomb, which dates from WWII, has been reported as being of U.S. or British origin. In a statement issued, explosive disposal experts were brought in to difuse the bomb. (UPI)

TEACHER FIRED FOR TAKING STUDENTS ON A RIDE IN A CAR TRUNK: Heather Cagle, an Oklhoma teacher, was fired after she allegedly took 11 students on a trip to Walmart for snacks in her Honda Accord. Seven children sat in the backseat, two rode in the front and two were locked in the trunk. Cagle did not have school or parental permission for the trip. She told the school board, "It was a terrible mistake. I didn't want to hurt anyone. I just wanted to do something nice." (Huffington Post)

MAN IS UNHARMED AFTER FALL FROM SIXTY-FOOT CLIFF: A 22-year-old New Yorker slipped of the edge of a cliff while hiking at Letchworth State Park. A friend called police immediately after Timothy Mazurczak fell. Nearly two-dozen rescuers spent two hours trying to save the hiker from the gorge. Luckily, he showed little signs of his fall. POLICE SEARCH FOR VANDAL WITH SPELLING PROBLEM: An unknown suspect vandalized a South Carolina woman's 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, but spelled her insult incorrectly. Wendy Owens told police that she noticed the words "B*cth I'm get you". Owens, had no solid proof, but she thought the vandal “may have been a female named Dawn.” (Smoking Gun)

MONSTER TRUCK BREAKS GUINNESS SPEED RECORD: A monster truck reached a speed of 99.1-miles-per-hour on a Texas racetrack to break a Guinness world record. The Raminator driven by Mark Hall went for a spin around the track at the Circuit of the Americas. Hall broke the record for fastest monster truck speed, which was set at 96.8-miles per-hour. SCHOOL SENDS 300 ACCEPTANCE LETTERS TO THE WRONG STUDENTS: John Hopkins University accidentally sent nearly 300 acceptance letters to students who should have been rejected. University officials apologized to the students for the disappointment that they caused. Vice Provost David Phillips chalked the mistake up to human error and explained that a contractor mistakenly pulled the wrong list of emails. The subject line for the email messages read, "Embrace the YES!" and the message welcomed the students to the university. (Yahoo)

BASKETBALL STAR HAS COMBINED THE SPORT WITH TAI CHI: A Chinese "freestyle basketball" star has shot a video showing his basketball skills in a routine inspired by the Chinese martial art, tai chi. Jiang Shan, who performs with his freestyle basketball group, theZmedia, was named China's champion freestyle basketball player in 2006, 2007 and 2008 before becoming a full time entertainer. MAN ARRESTED WHILE DRIVING CAR WITH 4 FLATS AND A DEPLOYED AIRBAG: Omaha police arrested a man for suspicion of DUI after they spotted him driving with a deployed airbag on four flat tires. He has been arrested for DUI three previous times. This time Richard Curzon was booked on suspicion of felony DUI, felony driving during revocation, felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, bail review, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia. WALMART CUSTOMERS AND WORKERS TACKLE DEER INSIDE STORE: Customers and workers at a Charlotte, North Caroline Walmart got a shock when a confused deer wandered into the store. It was tackled and pinned down to the group by a few customers and workers and caught on video by a customer. The deer was taken away by Animal Control. MAN FINED FOR CROSSING STREET TOO SLOWLY: An 85-year-old man was fined $50 for crossing the street too slowly. Italy's La Republica newspaper reported that he didn't get to the other side of the street before the traffic light turned red. Locals were furious at the fine because they say the traffic lights change too quickly. The unidentified man paid the fine, but Pinerolo's mayor intends to reduce the fine to nothing. (Newser)

NEW YORK STATE BANS PET TATTOOS AND PIERCINGS: New York is banning pet tattoos and piercing. Andrew Cuomo's new legislation will deem those acts to be animal abuse. Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal introduced the bill in 2011 after hearing about a Pennsylvania woman who attempted to sell on the Internet "gothic kittens," with piercings down their necks and spines. Violators of the law, which applies to dogs, cats and all other pets, will face up to $250 in fines and up to 15 days imprisonment. The law is set to take effect in 120-days.

SANTA GETS A PARKING TICKET: Santa Claus' sleigh was given a ticket for parking in a no parking zone. Chris Uttley was towing the sleigh to a charity event when he stopped to wait for some volunteers outside a co-op. He started transferring some tins from his car to the sleigh when he was slammed with a $50-dollar-ticket. Uttley said that "Santa was absolutely shocked," and thought the warden should "get a lump of coal for Christmas." (Mirror)

BABY BORN AT 10:11 on 12/13/14: A Cleveland baby was born at 10:11am on December 13, 2014. Hazel Grace was born at Cleveland's Fairview Hospital to Leisha Campbell and Shawn Zimmerman. DON'T JERK AND DRIVE CAMPAIGN CANCELED: A safe driving campaign warning drivers about the dangers of "Jerking" their steering was canceled after people complained about the double-entendre. Trevor Jones, the secretary of the Department of Public Safety in South Dakota, admitted that the allusion to masturbation was deliberately inserted to get people’s attention. Jones, however, had a change of heart after several complaints, which was now "distracting" from the advertisement's intended message. (Metro)

11-YEAR-OLD SPENDS $1,300-DOLLARS ON CAB RIDE TO SEE CUTE BOY: An 11-year-old Arkansas girl paid a cab driver $1,300 to drive to see her 16-year-old crush with money that she stole from her grandmother's sock drawer. Alexis Waller attempted to make the trip to Jacksonville, Florida, but was stopped after police tracked her cell phone records. Waller had met the boy on vacation two years ago, but he was not aware of her plan. The driver was not charged and isn't in any trouble at work. (Gawker)

RAINBOW GLITTER PILLS: The website Etsy is now selling rainbow glitter pills. The pills, which are labeled non-toxic, are not supposed to be consumed although the former would imply differently. On the site, the seller clearly states that they do not know if the pill makes your poo sparkle. (Metro)

ZOMBIE SANTA AND ELVES: A Tennessee haunted house is getting into the Christmas Spirit with Zombie Santa and undead elves. For ten-dollars and an unwrapped toy, visitors can pass through the 13,000-square-foot warehouse crammed with scares. Guests can pay an additional five-dollars to shoot Zombie Santa with a paintball gun. The unwrapped new toys will go to Last Minute Toy Store, which operates out of a Nashville church and helps parents who cannot afford gifts. . (Yahoo)

CHRISTMAS TREE MADE OF 300-BEER-KEGS: A New York brewery constructed a Christmas tree out of 300-beer kegs. The Genesee Brewing Company created the 23-foot high tree right outside its brew house in downtown Rochester. The keg tree was trimmed with 600 feet of green lights and topped by a rotating Genesee sign. The official public lighting ceremony is set for Dec. 18. (Yahoo)

RUNNER USES GPS APP TO PROPOSE: A British runner popped the question on Facebook by spelling out "will you marry me" with a GPS running app. 28-year-old Ben Chudley typically uses his GPS running app to create "Urban Pictionary" drawings and messages while running. He ran nearly 15 miles, but only needed 5.7 miles to spell out his proposal. Chudley said he posted the map on Facebook so his girlfriend would see it before he arrived with flowers and a ring. COMFYBALLS TRADEMARK DENIED: The Norwegian manufacturers of Comfyballs underwear had their trademark rejected because its name is too vulgar. Company founder Anders Selvig said officials filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office earlier this year with an aim toward bringing the products to the North American market. POST OFFICE PAYS HOMAGE TO FAMOUS REINDEER: Thousands of Christmas cards are pouring into a small Wisconsin village that shares its name with the most famous reindeer. The Rudolph Post Office usually receives thousands of Christmas cards annually from all over the world to be stamped with festive markings during the holiday season. This year is especially busy because the U.S. Postal Service started issuing stamps commemorating the 50th anniversary of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." The Christmas cards sent to the post office can be embossed with a special cancelation that reads, "Rudolph, Wisconsin — home of the Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer." (Yahoo)

WOMAN BEATS UP SISTER OVER A VIBRATOR: A woman named Heidi Creamer allegedly beat up her twin sister over dispute over a vibrator. The argument between the 48-year-old twins started after a disagreement over Heidi’s boyfriend and a sexual toy. The conversation eventually became physical leaving police with no explanation fight. MAN MASTURBATES IN YARD BECAUSE HIS MOM BANNED PORN: A 21-year-old man allegedly told police that he was masturbating in his yard because his mother wouldn't let him watch porn in their home. Anthony Smith was found nude in the driveway "next door" to his house. Smith supposedly told investigators that his mom has banned pornography from their home and that he gets a “high” walking around naked hoping that someone will see him. HALLMARK PULLS WRAPPING PAPER AFTER SWASTIKA COMPLAINT: Hallmark Cards has removed a blue and silver gift wrap from their stores after a complaint about swastika embedded in the design. The company alerted retailers after a Walgreen's customer complained in Northridge, California. The disputed wrap was featured in a Hanukkah display but Hallmark spokeswoman Julie Elliott says the gift wrap wasn't intended for the Jewish holiday. Elliott said in a news release that Hallmark didn't intend to offend anyone. (Yahoo)

METH DISGUISED AS MOIST TOWELETTES: New Zealand authorities confiscated a gallon of liquid meth packaged in moist towelettes. Wellington Police and the New Zealand Customs Service arrested two Taiwanese nationals for conspiracy to supply and import a Class A controlled drug. The 28-year-old woman and the 45-year-old man could face life sentences if found guilty. (Global Post)

WHISKY-SCENTED FABRIC: A Scottish University has created a fabric to permanently hold the smell of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky. Heriot-Watt University's School of Textiles & Design layered the scent into the fabric by using a process typically used to create therapeutic head wear for cancer patients. According to the business development manager Jim McVee, "Smart textiles" are a fast-developing sector that offers "enormous" potential. (BBC)

MAN THROWS SNAKE AT EMPLOYEE OVER ONIONS: A customer threw a snake at a Tim Horton's employee after an argument about onions. Two male customers were arguing with the counter person about how they wanted their onions diced. When the argument escalated, one of the men reached into the pocket of the other man, where he pulled out a garter snake. The two men were charged with mischief and causing a disturbance. Police will find the snake a home, until it will be released into the wild when the weather gets warmer. (The Concourse)

GOD, PRAYER AND BUFFALO WILD WINGS: An Alabama church will start holding services at a Buffalo Wild Wings to reach potential parishioners, who wouldn't go to a church." Reverend Wesley Savage is planning to begin holding Sunday morning services at the wing joint in the hopes of attracting worshippers intimidated by the church setting .The services have been dubbed "The Stream" and they are being billed in signs posted by the church as "Wings. Prayer. Sports."

5,000-POUND BRIDGE STOLEN: Michigan police are searching for a 5,000-pound bridge that has gone missing. Robert Cortis was visiting his property in Farmington Hills, when he discovered his wood -and-steel bridge was missing. Cortis was hoping to transport it to his catering company to use for wedding photos. Cortis has said that if the bridge is returned that he won't press charges. (Huffington Post)

POSTAL WORKERS STOLE PACKAGES FILLED WITH POT: Eight U.S. Postal Workers are being accused of stealing packages filled with marijuana. The post office employees put new labels on the parcels so they could divert them to new destinations. Police say the groups stole 263 packages and seized up to $930,000-dollars during the bust. COLLEGE USED STRIPPERS TO LURE STUDENTS: A Florida college used exotic dancers to get potential students to sign on with the school. .The FastTrain College "purposely hired attractive women and sometimes exotic dancers and encouraged them to dress provocatively while they recruited young men." According to a civil lawsuit, FastTrain College also obtained millions of dollars in federal money by allegedly falsifying documents. (Yahoo)

CHIMPANZEES DON'T HAVE SAME RIGHTS AS HUMANS: A New York court ruled that a chimpanzee is not entitled to the rights of a human and does not have to be freed by its owner. The three-judge Appellate Division panel was unanimous in denying "legal personhood" to a Chimpanzee named Tommy, who lives alone in a cage .The Nonhuman Rights Project was trying to get Tommy freed because of his living conditions. The court noted there have been no claims that Tommy has been mistreated or any of those rules have been violated. (Huffington Post)
