Several people living on the same block in St. Charles, Missouri said
that their garage door openers stopped working at the same time at the
end of December. One resident explained, "You'd see one of the neighbors
pull up to the garage and get out of the car. Pretty soon we were
asking each other, 'Are you having trouble with your garage door too?'"
The residents have not been able to identify what caused the
interference but a technician from the company that makes four out of
five of the garage openers is investigating the problem this week. (CBS)

MAN FINED FOR STARTING POLICE CHASE FOR FUN:
A man in Montana told officers that he started a police chase because
he always wanted to be involved in one. Early on Thursday morning
(February 1st), John Hughes followed a patrol car in his SUV before
turning around and speeding off at 70 miles per hour. Hughes drove 100
miles per hour during the chase that ensued. Officers eventually stopped
him by laying out a spike strip to flatten his tires. A police report
indicates that when officers asked Hughes why he started the chase, he
said, "I just always wanted to do that." He was fined $1,000.
